Survivors' Stories:
Speaking Our Truth

Every survivor of sexual or domestic violence has a story and the
right to decide when and where to tell it. Click on the links below to
read stories by some of the Caucus members who want their truth to be
heard.

    Dawn's story

    Barbara's story

    Kathleen's story

    Jess's story

    Kathi's story

If you would like to share your story of trauma and survival,
we want to post it for others to read.
o  How did your trauma change your life?
o  What did you do to survive?
o  What people and which techniques helped your recovery the most?
o  What helps you to thrive as a survivor?

The personal stories that appear here can be tools to educate the
public and to inspire and support other survivors.

Please send your story in an e-mail (or a Word attachment) to

spider
@survivorcaucusva.org. Please provide your name and city,
if you wish, or tell us you would prefer to have your story published
anonymously.

Survivors of sexual abuse or assault might also consider submitting
their stories in the form of poetry and/or artwork to the Action
Alliance's traveling exhibit,
"The Art of Surviving."
